My initial thoughts and questions about Slaughterhouse Five was what were the reasons for having it banned? Also what were the author’s influences for writing this book? If this was through a personal experience, is this book completely true to his experience, just lived through a fictional character. ~Brittany Strycharz
Thus far, I wonder whether Kurt Vonnegut's family actually did or did not support him in writing Slaughterhouse Five. This is a valid question because the author actually explains that not everything in the book is true. So far, I am enjoying the book and its complex simplicity. I am interested to learn more about the plunger people and Vonnegut's perception of time.
Is Kurt Vonnegut a modernist or a postmodernist, or does he use both views in his writing? Does this book display why he might have tried to commit suicide?
