I feel that Vonnegut may have used his vision of Billy Pilgrim and the Tralfamadorians to escape his tramatic experiences in Dresden. He probably did not use this imaginated escape as elaborately as Billy did, but this novel could also be a release of all the horrible baggage Vonnegut held.
I feel that Vonnegut was merely using Slaughterhouse Five as a release for all the emotion that had built up inside of him throughout his life but mostly from his experiences in Dresden. -Matt Marchand
